The principle
On a seasonal unit's public page, the traveller picks dates and sends a booking request (name, email, optional phone, message). Prices, capacity, minimum nights, pets and availability are checked and priced by the server: an impossible request is refused with the reason. See Seasonal rentals for pricing.
What each side receives
- The traveller receives a “Booking request received” email: it is not confirmed and does not block the dates.
- You receive a “New booking request” email with dates, number of guests, estimated total and their message. Replying writes directly to the traveller.
Accepting or declining
On the unit's page, the Booking requests section lists pending requests. Accept creates the stay in the calendar (dates are then blocked) and emails the traveller a Booking confirmed message; availability is re-checked first (a booking or a platform calendar may have taken the dates meanwhile). Decline sends a Request not accepted email, with an optional message from you.
Getting paid with PayPal
In Online payments (rental menu):
- tick Accept PayPal payments for this rental;
- paste your PayPal.Me link (https://paypal.me/yourname or just yourname): no password or secret key is requested;
- enter the PayPal account email, the payment currency (PayPal.Me does not accept every currency) and any payment instructions.
What the link does
In the confirmation email the traveller finds “pay … on PayPal”: the amount is converted to the PayPal currency at the day's rate. If the rate is unavailable, no link is attached. The traveller pays on PayPal; you then record the payment in the stay (deposit or balance): see Recording payments.
